Aroma DNA: Grow on Mission

Our fourth spot in our Aroma DNA series is entitled “The Aroma to Those Who Are Perishing.”  It’s about growing on mission – steadily, stubbornly growing towards the greater mission in life God has given you.

Grow on Mission at The Aroma

Recently, a story of Enoch connected well.  My boy woke up early one morning and helped me make coffee.  He was there because he was my son.  He had the tools.  He had the desire to help.  He saw the opportunity before him.  My son followed this four step process to knowing His mission:

  • Identity: 2 Corinthians 3:4-6, Exodus 33.  We must first understand who we are: sons and daughters of God. When we understand who He is and what He’s done for us, we are free to operate in the realm He created us for.  Everything flows from identity.
  • Gifts: Matthew 10:8, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:7-14.  We must look at what God has given us.  The Bible is full of promises about what God has given us. The purpose of the power He’s given you is to live out the Jesus life.  It’s about living out Heaven on Earth.  Miracles are common place.  When we started to love without expectations and give out of what He’s given us, we realize that there’s a limitless power that dwells within us.
  • Calling: Romans 11:29, Ephesians 4:1.  Our hope is that you would discover the holy burden of God. There has to be something that you’re desperate to see changed.  Learn, embrace and initiate change (Taguchi).  Practical work may be a competitor against abandonment to God.
  • Anointing/Presence: Luke 4:18, Luke 5:17, John 4:35, Exodus 12:31, 1 Corinthians 4:20.  Our final step is learn to follow what God is doing in the moment, learning to partner with Him.

The coffee Enoch made was delicious!

Practically speaking, this works out in the context of ministries at Aroma.  You can get involved in business, church and missions here at Aroma.  You can even do all three :-).  There are even some of you who will be called outside of Aroma to go somewhere else and follow God’s leading in your life.  We commend that! No matter what you do, don’t forget who you are, what you’ve been given, how He’s calling you, and where the anointing is.
